As an independent space centering ace perspectives, narratives, and activism that is managed entirely by one person, The Asexual has created a Patreon for the following purposes:

1. Paying Ace Writers, Artists, and Creators
The Asexual wants to continue to pay ace writers, artists, and creators for the content they submit and publish in every issue of the journal as well as for articles, interviews, and other content to be featured on the website. By donating to The Asexual as a Patron, you will be helping in the payment of ace creators for their work.

2. The Asexual Journal Physical Release
The Asexual journal wants to continue to bring special collections of work by ace writers, artists, and creators to you in physical format on a quarterly basis and is in need of support to ensure the regular completion of this goal. By donating to The Asexual as a Patron, you will be helping in the creation and continuation of this physical edition and special collection of work by ace writers, artists, and creators in a physical format.

3. Supporting the Founder of The Asexual
Michael Paramo is the founder and lead editor of The Asexual, and is also its only layout editor, website designer, social media manager, and more. They go by the name of Queen of Aces on Twitter and have been initiating conversations and discussions on asexuality throughout 2017. In addition to being the sole manager of The Asexual, they are also a full-time grad student who is researching and writing about asexuality in academia.
